Getting here from Zihuatanejo airport by taxi or rental car:

We don't offer a shuttle service. in Zihuatanejo- Ixtapa airport only taxi vehicles with an airport special license can service the airport. The official taxi stand next to the gate charges about 500-600 pesos for a trip to Barra de Potosi.
Our local taxis don't have an airport license to pick you up at the airport, but they can take you back to the airport for about 300 pesos. It takes 15 minutes to get to Hacienda la Rusa from the airport.

you will drive from the airport along the beach, approaching the village, you will see the sign Bienvenidos a Barra de Potosi.

50 meters or 5 seconds after the sign, on the right side you will see the building with large palapa. this is Hacienda la Rusa.

Getting here from Zihuatanejo airport by bus:

Walk outside the airport and across the parking lot. You will walk about 3-5 minutes. (which could be too much in these heat if you have lots of luggage) you will see a bus stop on south side for the buses heading to Zihuatanejo and a bench on south side. There is no signs. Please, ask - where is the bus stop to Barra de Potosi? (where is the stop for the bus going to La Barra). You might need to wait for 20-30 minutes. The trip will take another 20-30 minutes. The cost is 15-25 pesos, please, have small bills or coins ready. Get off the bus in Barra de Potosi a few steps from Hacienda la Rusa.

Getting here from Zihuatanejo by bus:

option 1 take the bus to Aeropuerto and then take the bus to Barra de Potosi

option 2 take the bus to Petatlán, get off the bus in the village Los Achotes and there take next bus to Barra de Potosi
2 blocks from the central market (Mercado), find a street Calle Las Palmas there is a small local bus terminal, take a bus to Petatlan, it leaves about every 15 minutes. Please, ask to be let off at Los Achotes turn to Laguna de Potosi. It should take about 30 minutes including stops along the way to dropoff and pick up passengers to get to Los Achotes.
in Los Achotes buses to Barra de Potosi go about every 30 minutes. It will take about 15 minutes to drive to Barra de Potosi.
Total trip will cost about 20-30 pesos.
