Hi, I am Stasya aka La Rusa.
Me and my partner , Mike , are the owners of this small magical bed and breakfast. We live here in Barra de Potosi most of the year, and hopefully will have a chance to personally greet you and welcome you to Hacienda la Rusa.
The rhythms of our bed and breakfast revolve around peace, zen, happiness, animal welfare and green practices: rescuing, sterilizations, recycling, using renewable resources as much as possible, minimizing our environmental impact in every decision we make, supporting and interacting with the local community.
Barra de Potosi is a rural, rustic and authentic mexican fishing village, 30 minutes and a world away from the major resort city of Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. Barra de Potosi is remote, basic and simple; the right place for a visitor with a taste for a cultural adventure and untouched natural beauty!
Barra de Potosi beach Playa Blanca is a beautiful 10 miles long stretch of yellow sand. Barra de Potosi lagoon is a sanctuary with over 200 species of birds, insects, lizards...
If you love adventure, nature and Mexico, this is the place to go and We are looking forward to meeting you here! La Rusa

1. From Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo airport
* The easiest way is to take an airport-taxi, it will take 15 minutes and cost about $ 250-450 pesos
* If you plan to drive around, rent a car at the airport
* Take a local bus "pasajero" going to Barra de Potosi, not recommended if you have a lot of luggage,
because you have to walk about 5-7 minutes to the bus stop from the airport
2. From Zihuatanejo centro
2 blocks from the central market (Mercado), find a street Calle Las Palmas there is a small local bus terminal, take a bus to Petatlan, it leaves about every 15 minutes. Please, ask to be let off at Los Achotes turn to Laguna de Potosi. It should take about 30 minutes including stops along the way to dropoff and pick up passengers to get to Los Achotes.
in Los Achotes ask for "pasajero" to Barra de Potosi, they also leave every 15-30 minutes. It will take about 15 minutes to drive to Barra de Potosi.
Total trip will cost about 20-30 pesos.
What are Pasajera (Cattle trucks)?
These are actually pick-ups, with a roof and fence. Yes, some locals take their chickens to go the market. So you may see a jute bag start moving and making noise, but that is the fun of it too. The pasajera runs when they have enough money to make the trip(4-5 persons). If you are in a hurry just pay more.
